A rare winter in the snowy depths of Russia where the onset of the freezing weather mixed with rain has created perfect elliptic cylinder crystals around each tree branch and in the complete silence sporadically one can hear the cracking of the branches under the weight of the ice.

First drops of nectar

The beginning of spring and this ring-necked parakeet was picking the first sprung flowers off this tree in an attempt to collect the sugar-rich nectar after an incompatible winter season for them in the UK.

Setted up a composition in which the abandoned shell sat on top of a rock and the tricky part was to take the shot before the wave completely engulfed the shell which was a matter of milliseconds.
